"He wore the same striped pajamas that all the other people on that side of the fence wore, and a striped cloth cap on his head"(Boyne 106). This is a quote from The Boy in the Striped Pajamas that is saying how the prisoners of concentration camps during the holocaust were forced to wear striped clothing. When Jews were captured and put into concentration camps they had to wear certain clothing. On arrival, the prisoners were forced to take off all of there clothes and put on some striped clothing. Today these striped clothes are referred to as "striped pajamas". These clothes were never washed or switched, prisoners would wear these clothes full time at concentration camps until death or for a couple of lucky survivors, until they left the concentration camps. This is authentic, concentration camp prisoners were forced to wear striped clothing while in the camp.
